Georgia Equality is a political advocacy organization for the LGBT community. Georgia Equality focuses on educating the public, elected officials and policymakers; building coalitions and mobilizing allies; increasing the political participation of the LGBT and allied communities; and organizing and empowering the LGBT community in urban, suburban and rural communities across the state.
The Human Rights Campaign is the nation’s largest LGBT civil rights organization. HRC focuses not only on politics and government policy, fundraising and lobbying, but also advocates for equal rights and benefits in the workplace and increasing public support through advocacy, education and outreach programs.
The International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA) is a federation of over 600 groups in over 90 countries campaigning for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex (LGBTI) rights. ILGA publishes a world map of LGBTI rights and a yearly report on state-sponsored homophobia.
The National Gay & Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF) works to build the grassroots political power of the LGBT community, fostering the movement to win complete equality. NGLTF uses direct and grassroots lobbying to defeat anti-LGBT ballot initiatives and legislation, and works to pass pro-LGBT legislation and other measures. NGLTF also serves as a think tank, analyzing and reporting on the positions of candidates for public office on issues of importance to the LGBT community

The Victory Fund is an LGBT organization focused on fundraising for queer and queer-friendly candidates nationwide. Their Website includes lists of openly gay public officials, endorsements of gay and gay-friendly candidates, political news of interest to the LGBT community, and resources for getting involved in the political process. The Victory Fund also maintains an excellent blog on gay politics.
The Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law is a national think tank focused on advancing sexual orientation law and public policy through rigorous, independent research and scholarship. The Institute publishes numerous interesting studies on sexual orientation, available to judges, legislators, policymakers, media and the public.
